No. All to often, a 'watertight' dog diaper means elastic bands, which can cause chafing as well as a greater chance of infection from sores. We have found a great fitting diaper with a pad to be the better all around solution for dogs to their dog urination problems. Li'l Britches dog diapers are designed to use a standard sanitary pad cut to fit the appropriate size.
For your convienence and cost effeciency, we also carry reusable pads.
Li'l Britches canine diapers should be hand or machine washable(gentle cycle). If machine washing, was in cold water with like colors.
Line drying is recommended to keep your Li'l Britches diapers looking like new!

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DOG
Please refer to Anatomy picture:
- Make sure the dog is standing. Ask a friend to help keep the dog in the proper position if necessary.
- Wrap a cloth measuring tape around the dog’s waist which is located just in front of hindquarters. Refer to picture
- If you measure too close to the hindquarters on the male, the diaper may not cover the urethral opening making the diaper useless. We suggest you purchase 2 diapers to start: this gives you a spare diaper in the case of a messy accident.
Weigh your dog
- Accurate weight measurements are necessary to determine the correct dog diaper size.
- Take large dogs to the veterinarian to get weight measurements. Most veterinary offices will have a walk-on scale designed for animals.
- Weigh smaller dogs at home. Step on a scale and record your weight. Pick up the dog and weigh yourself again. Subtract the combined weight of you and the dog from your weight. This number is the dog’s weight.
